Today was the last visit for this group of children. They have enjoyed their time in the bush over the last few months and today they chose to go to the mud slide to spend their last day playing hide and seek, using their imaginations, collecting sticks and skeleton leaves or relaxing in the hammock. The children have become confident and even comfortable in the bush and I hope this will continue further on into their life.
While enjoying lunch we had a visitor. It was the only chicken not relocated from Pukemokemoke and she must have been hungry and lonely, because she was coming right up and taking food from the children's hands. We felt sorry for her and decided to bring her back to Creche to live at Kauri with our other chickens.
